Mrs. Carol Kathleen Williams

Mrs. Carol Kathleen Williams, 75, of Peoria, IL, transitioned to her heavenly home at 4:18 pm on Monday, April 28, 2025 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home surrounded by her family. Carol was born in Mexico, Missouri on February 19, 1950. She was the eighth of 14 children born to Beatrice (Lue) and Herbert F. Jackson, Sr. Carol graduated from Mexico High School in 1968. While in high school, she volunteered as a “Candy Striper” at the local hospital. She later attended Kidwell's School of Hairdressing and acquired her Cosmetology license in Columbia, MO in 1969. She married the love of her life, Raymond Edward Williams, Jr. on May 24, 1969 in Mexico, MO. She worked as a Member Service Representative at CEFCU for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2007. She was a devoted member of Zion Baptist Church for almost 40 years, where she faithfully served as an Usher. Carol also served on the Board of Directors for the Bradley University Parents' Association. She was an active member of the Tri-County Peoria Urban League TSTM Parents' Group and following her retirement, volunteered with the Red Cross. Carol never met a stranger. She had a warm, quiet, and nurturing spirit. She was a seamstress and made several outfits and costumes over the years for her family. She also enjoyed playing the piano. She adored her grandchildren and loved doting on them. She enjoyed shopping and could find you a good deal on whatever you were looking for. Carol leaves to cherish her loving memories, her beloved husband of 56 years, Raymond Edward Williams, Jr.; two daughters, Angela Williams and Asha Williams both of Peoria, IL; two brothers, Lowell (Jaye) Jackson of Mexico, MO and Ivan (Eula) Jackson of Cordova, TN; six sisters, Elaine (Larry) Bell, Jaclyn (Richard) White, Alice Jackson, Bobbette Jackson and Rita Jackson all of Mexico, MO and Maria Jackson of Columbia, MO; five grandchildren, Alexis Carter, Lauren Whisker, Daniel Whisker, Mariah Carter, and Angel Carter, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her Zion Baptist Church Family. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Tereatha Richardson, four brothers, Herbert Jackson, Jr., Larry Jackson, Gary Jackson, and Arthur Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Zion Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior at 12 noon. Pastor Samuel Duren will officiate.
