Mr. Christopher Shaun Ferguson

Mr. Christopher Shaun Ferguson, 26, of 2221 W. Willow Knolls, Peoria, Ill., passed away Friday, July 28, 2006, at 1:20 a.m. Chris was born Aug. 29, 1979, in Peoria to Brenda Payton and John Ferguson III. He graduated from Dunlap High School in 1999, where he was a member of the basketball team. Chris was Brenda's only child. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving and devoted parents, his mother, Brenda, his father and stepmother, John III and Betty Ferguson, all of Peoria; one loving daughter, Jada C. Ferguson of Peoria; two sisters, Chalandra Ferguson of Madison, Tenn., and Johnia N. Ferguson of Peoria. He is also survived by a niece and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents and his great-grandmother. Chris was a cook at Longhorn Steak House and formerly worked at Famous Dave's at Grand Prairie. Chris had a passion for bowling. He spent most of his time bowling at Landmark Recreation Center. In February 2006, he joined the Professional Bowlers Association. At the age of 14, he was the youngest Peorian to score a perfect game of 300. He competed and won many bowling trophies. He was a member of the HOI YC and was the highest scholarship money winner. He was a member of the Professional Bowlers Tour, The GPBA, the Masters Bowling League, the TNBA Bowling League of Peoria and various other leagues in the Peoria area. He also had a great love for golf. Chris will be missed not only because he was a great bowler, loving father and son, but because he was a great friend to many. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug, 5, 2006, at St. Paul Baptist Church. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, at Simons Mortuary Chapel and one hour prior to the church service Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. Chris will be laid to rest at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Family and friends will be received at Landmark Recreation Center, 3225 N. Dries Lane, Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Jada Christina Ferguson Trust Fund at CEFCU, Peoria, IL.
