Master DeQuwan Lamar Pruitt

Master DeQuwan Lamar Pruitt, 15, of Peoria, IL passed away at 2:20 am on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. DeQuwan was born in Peoria, IL on December 7, 2005 to DeMrice Shanita Nichols and Lionell Henry Pruitt, III. He was a Freshman at Richwoods High School. Everyone loved DeQuwan. He was very respectful, kind hearted, smart, funny and playful. When DeQuwan entered a room, you couldn’t help but see his beautiful smile that was so infectious that it made everyone around him smile. He was a very energetic young man and he had a great vibe about him. DeQuwan loved all sports including wrestling and boxing. He enjoyed playing video games. DeQuwan absolutely loved his family and friends and they adored him. DeQuwan leaves to cherish his memory his mother, DeMrice Nichols of Peoria, IL; his father, Lionell Pruitt of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Devontay Pruitt and Levon Pruitt both of Peoria, IL; two sisters, Danija Jordan and Lakiyah Nichols both of Peoria, IL; grandparents, Mary Nichols Dunigan of Peoria, IL and Maizelle (Wendell) Hutson of Chicago, IL; special uncles, Andrew Nichols, DeAndre Nichols and Robert Carter, Jr., all of Peoria, IL; special aunts, Jennifer Nichols and Regina Nichols both of Peoria, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. **A Private Funeral Service and Burial will be held - Not open to the public.** Although this service is private, due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing is still encouraged to be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services. *In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them). *It is our responsibility as a Funeral Directors, to do everything we can to advise families in order to honor our beloved Families and to keep everyone as safe as possible.
