Mrs. Erika Syvette Gordon-Jackson

Mrs. Erika Syvette Gordon-Jackson 48, of Peoria, Illinois passed peacefully at 12:12 pm on June 21, 2024 at her home surrounded by her devoted and loving family. Erika was born on March 12, 1976 in Peoria, IL to Sylvester and Roberta Gordon. She married Patrick Jackson on July 19, 2019. Erika accepted Christ at an early age, she knew and loved Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior. Erika dedicated 20 years as a Driver for CityLift located in Peoria, IL until her journey to combat cancer began. Erika was an avid supporter of her two children and grandchildren at numerous sports activities. Over the years, she attended many basketball games, cheering at the football games and watching them winning medals at all their track meets… grandma tried not to miss any events! She was always so proud and honored to talk about their accomplishments. Her children were her heart and there wasn’t a prouder mother who expressed so much joy when talking about her children’s achievements. Erika had the honor to be a wonderful grandmother for 17 years, all starting with her first grandson, DeMylin! She loved him very much; he took front and center of her life and he took her bragging rights to a new height. In addition to her husband, Patrick Jackson, she leaves to cherish her precious memory, her parents, Sylvester and Roberta Gordon of Peoria, IL; one daughter, Seanne Gordon of Dallas, Texas; one son, Kashmiere Hughes of Peoria, IL; her five grandchildren, Demylin, Eylin, Seanti, Khloee, and Kamieria; her two beloved brothers, Micha (Kimberly) Gordon and Brett (Jackie) Gordon whom she loved very much!!! She always referred to them as “MY BROTHERS” Micha & Brett!!! Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Pleasant and Mabel Gordon, Roy and Anna Mae Johnson; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at New Morning Star M. B. Church with a visitation beginning at 10 am. Pastor Cleveland Thomas, Sr. is the host pastor and Pastor Alvin Riley, Sr. of Sovereign Grace M.B. Church will bring forth the eulogy. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
