Mr. George "Jello The Mello Man" Richardson

Mr. George “Jello” Richardson, 64, of Peoria, Illinois transitioned to his heavenly home at 3:20 am on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Hospital. George was born on the Southside of Chicago, IL on November 5, 1956 to Florence Mae Mosley and Hirtha Richardson. He was educated in the Chicago area school system. He married Jeanette Boclair and they shared over 42 years of love. George had a great work ethic. He worked for a packaging warehouse for many years and a cab driver for even more years. He was a kind, caring and loving family man. He loved a good game of dice and playing his lottery numbers. He enjoyed shopping, watching and listening to birds. He loved driving his family to appointments and other events. George was known to make his rounds to family members to check on his family. His favorite pastime was watching Karate movies, the News. George loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Michael Jackson was his all-time favorite Pop Singers. George leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted family; his wife, Jeanette Richardson of Peoria, IL; four daughters, Kimberly (William) Boclair-Morris of Peoria, IL, Erica Boclair of Dallas, TX, Melodie Richardson and Shavon Richardson both of Peoria, IL; one son, Kenneth Boclair of Peoria, IL; five sisters, Viola Jamerson of Peoria, IL, Isola Richardson, Lena Richardson, Eugenia (Smokey) Fleming and Bernit’ta (John) Richardson-Malloy all of Chicago, IL; 22 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two god-children, Mike D. and Poochie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Barry Richardson and Leroy Richardson and two sisters, Karen Watkins and June Richardson. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Victory Christian Church with a visitation beginning at 1 pm. Pastor Charles Brown will officiate. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance limits will be observed. In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health, Funerals are limited to no more than 50% of the capacity of the church or less. To be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services. Funerals are limited to no more than 50% of the decedent’s immediate family members. *In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them). *It is our responsibility as a Funeral Directors, to do everything we can to advise families in order to honor our beloved Families and to keep everyone as safe as possible.
