Mr. Johnny Donnell Wright

Mr. Johnny Donnell Wright, 59, of Peoria, Illinois transitioned to his heavenly home at 10:31 am on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Johnny was born on January 24, 1963 in Scott, Mississippi to Johnny and Ruby (Erving) Wright. Johnny was an entrepreneur. He was skilled at many types of trades including mechanics, carpentry and plumbing. He loved to fix things and would often times take things apart just to put them back together. In his spare time, Johnny loved fishing and being with his family and friends. He was a soft-spoken person whom all that knew him would listen intently when he spoke. Johnny leaves to cherish his most precious memory his four sons, Quandel Wright, Dominic Wright, Isaiah Bassett and Johnny “Levi” Wright; seven daughters, Atonya Krigner, Debracca Wright, Sharnitha Krigner, Chaquita Krigner, Nicole Krigner, Misty Krigner and Shawda Krigner all of Peoria, IL; two brothers, Sammie (Trina) Wright of Fort Wayne, IN and Charles Mitchell of Mississippi; six sisters, Eunice Wright, Mary Wright and Sandra Wright all of Peoria, IL, Beatrice (Ervin) Sturdivant, MS, Debora Wright and Joyce Wright all of Metcalf, MS; 34 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Wright; two grandsons, LaBron Wright and Dennis Porter, Jr. and one granddaughter, Destiny Porter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Sovereign Grace M.B. Church with a visitation one-hour prior beginning at 10:00 noon. Pastor Larry Johnson of Galena Park Baptist Church will officiate. Johnny will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
