Mrs. LaShawnda Yvonne Irby

Ms. LaShawnda Yvonnve Alderson Irby, 48, of Peoria, IL, departed this life on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 3:14 pm at OSF St. Francis Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. LaShawnda was born on March 8, 1976 in Chicago, IL to Flosie Washington and Jerry Jones. LaShawnda enjoyed these past 20-plus years with her husband, Brian Irby, who welcomed his wife with open arms until God called him home on October 28, 2024. “TT,” as she was fondly called, enjoyed singing, dancing, cooking, doing nails, and make-up on others. LaShawnda was loved by so many. Brian and LaShawnda had an open-door policy with friends and family, and all friends were treated as family. LaShawnda attended Columbia Central High School (Columbia, TN) and accepted Christ at an early age. LaShawnda wore the title “Big Sister” like a “Badge of Honor”. The bond she shared with her siblings showed beyond the meaning of LOVE. Her mom called them “thicker than thieves”. LaShawnda leaves to cherish her memories six wonderful children Tatyona, Serenity (Deaton), Anthony, Gavin, Jonathan & Kelsey; Mother Flosie Washington; Father Jerry Jones; Brother Kenny Alderson; Sisters Chyncinta (DeeDee) Alderson, Aletha McClain, Kissy Teaque, Four stepsons; Four stepdaughters; Nineteen grandchildren; Two great-grandchildren; Four brothers-in-law; Seven sisters-in-law, Two uncles; three aunts; Best Friends Aquarius Franklin and Shawnice; a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Brian Irby, grandparents Margaruiete Polk and Thomas Clyde Alderson, Sister Jackie Teaque, Stepbrother Derreck Wells and Stepson Kelsy Coleman. The family of LaShawnda Alderson Irby would like to thank each of you for your prayers, thoughts, kind words, and phones.
