Mr. Robert Earl Brooks

Mr. Robert Earl Brooks, 73, passed away at 1:19 pm on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Robert was born on August 28, 1949 in Sunflower, MS to Thomas and Mary (Winston) Brooks. He happily married Patricia Branch on May 27, 1979. Robert worked at Eastside Community Center as a maintenance worker from 2018 – 2022. He worked prior at PCCEO as a carpenter for over 20 years. Robert was a Chicago stepper and a cool guy. He was a very outgoing man and the life of the party, jokester. Everyone loved being around him. Robert was a dog lover of his favorite dog Deuce. He was a wonderful husband to his wife and enjoyed doing things with his grandchildren. Robert leaves to cherish his most precious memory his loving and devoted wife, Patricia Brooks; five sons, Omar Brooks, Marlon Brooks, Myron Branch all of Peoria, IL, Renard Brooks of Chicago, IL and Brian Woods of Terra Haute, IN; one daughter, Tara Williams of Greenwood, MS; one brother, Richard Pettis of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Eloise Brooks and Tara Brooks of Berwyn, IL; two uncles, Rev. Freddie Brooks of Chicago, IL and Rev. Melvin (Dorise) Brooks of Atlanta, GA; two aunts, Rev. Shirley Williams of Chicago, IL and Carol Davis of Moorhead, MS; two special niece and nephew, Jasmine Branch and Tremayne (Andrea) Branch both of Peoria, IL and a host of grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two Godsons, Marlon Herron and Tolando Smith both of Peoria, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Lenard Brooks; two brothers, Nepoleon Brooks and Ermon Pettis; one sister, Tommi Jean Moore. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Peoria Heights Congregational Church, Peoria Heights, IL with a visitation one-hour prior at 11 am. Pastor Rick Simkins is the host pastor and Bishop Kennedy Branch of The Church of The Living God, Jonesboro, AR will officiate. Robert will be laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery.
