Ms. Samone Breanne Gregory, 24, of Peoria, IL transitioned from this life to her heavenly home at 11:27 am on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, IL in the Emergency Room. Samone was born November 21, 1995 in Peoria, IL to Barbara Taylor and Shedrick Gregory, Jr. Samone was a very strong person who loved her family. She was a care taker to her mom and to whomever else needed help. She loved spending time with her family and extended family. Samone loved everyone and no one was a stranger to her. She was very calm, easy going and quiet by nature. Samone was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a princess. She loved modeling and had done some modeling over the years. Samone liked to get her hair, nails and makeup done; she always looked like a Barbie Doll. Samone leaves to cherish her most precious memories her parents, Shedrick Gregory, Jr. and Barbara Taylor; her companion, RaKea “Kea” Johnson; one son, Antonio Burnside; one daughter, A’Morranna Burnside; five brothers, Antoine Robinson, Taurean Gregory, Adrian Gregory, Tyrese Gregory and Fredrick Johnson all of Peoria, IL; seven sisters, "Shy" Sazone-Hill of Arlington, TX, Shedae Gregory of Lake Elsinore, CA, Shalesse Gregory of Peoria, IL, Sydne Gregory of Peoria, IL, Paige McGown of San Padro, CA, Jade Hunter and Elise Winder both of Peoria, IL; her paternal grandmother, Clara Gregory of Port St. Loucie, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lawrence and Hattie Taylor, and Shedrick Gregory, Sr. and one brother, Shedrick Gregory, III. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Victory Christian Church with a visitation one-hour prior beginning at 10 am. Pastor Charles “Chuck” Brown will officiate. The funeral service will be live streamed on Simons Mortuary's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Simons-Mortuary-232095303487150/ Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance limits will be observed at the church. As the States begin re-opening in response to the Global Coronavirus Pandemic, some people are returning to their previous normal living standards. Unfortunately, we are now in our new normal as unreal and sometimes uncomfortable as the socially distancing and continuous use of protective masks may feel. *In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them). The church can socially distance and seat a limit of 50 or less people. All others will be able to flow through and view prior to beginning the Celebration of Life Ceremony.
