June 19, 1959 - November 18, 2020
Mrs. Arlene Veasley, 61, of Peoria, IL transitioned peacefully at 3:15 pm on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Arlene was born on June 19, 1959 in Emelle, Alabama to George, Sr. and Louise (Amelson) Robinson. At an early age “Arlene” confessed a belief in Christ and joined the Baptist Church. She and her husband would have regular Bible studies. Arlene believed he left a pathway in the Word of God for her to follow and often enjoyed walking along the path that was laid out for her. Although not perfect, her life was a reflection of a true Christian in thought and deed, throughout life. Arlene received her education in the Milwaukee Public School system. She worked for Curative for many years caring for the elderly and disabled. Her love for sewing and creativity lead her education path toward sewing. She earned a degree as Master Seamstress and that degree afforded her the ability to work at JCPenney Distribution Center in the career path of her studies. She retired to venture into entrepreneurship and thus Lady A’s African Designs was birthed. Everyone on the Seven Mile Fair circuit raved about Lady A’s African Designs. Arlene entered back in to the work force to assist her cousins with running Most Precious Possessions Childcare. The staff, parents, and kids loved her like one would love their own Mama, that’s how she adopted the name, everyone fondly called her, “Mama Arlene”. She was a beloved daughter, dear sister, devoted wife, loving mother, sister, cousin, and a trusted friend. Arlene leaves to cherish her most precious memory two loving and devoted sons, Jermaine S. Veasley and Derrick R. Veasley and a step-son, James Veasley all of Milwaukee, WI; three step daughters, Shar-ron (Don) Hadley, Gwen Veasley and Katherine (Jimmy) Harrison; two sisters, Maggie (James) Witherspoon and Jannie Robinson all of Milwaukee, WI; six brothers, Scott Robinson, George Robinson, Jr., Jerome Robinson and Eric Robinson all of Peoria, IL, Melvin Robinson and Richard Robinson both of Milwaukee, WI; two grandchildren, Janie Veasley and Haylee Robinson, a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren that she loved as well to the moon and back; Roshelle (Fred) who was her cousin but just like her kids and a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Willie James Robinson and one granddaughter, Jana Veasley. A private funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Simons Mortuary with a visitation beginning at 10 am. Pastor Alvin Riley, Sr. of Sovereign Grace M.B.
