    Mrs. Beulah Celine Bradley

    July 23, 1929 - January 4, 2021

Ms. Beulah Celine Bradley, 91, of Peoria, Illinois transitioned to her heavenly home at 1:44 pm on Monday, January 4, 2021 at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital. Born July 23, 1929 in Jones, Louisiana to Oddie Bell Hunter and Robert Sandiefor, Beulah later moved to Monroe, LA where she attended Little Flower Catholic High School. There she participated in all girl sports, but excelled specifically in basketball. Upon graduation, in 1950 she continued on with her education at the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff for 2 years. Shortly, thereafter attending college, she came north, met and married the love of her life, William “Sonny” Bradley and together raised two children, Tonie and Brian. Beulah had gainful employment for some years at St. Francis Hospital. She retired from Caterpillar, Inc., after many years of service at the Morton, Illinois location. She remained a long-time resident of Peoria, Illinois for over 50 years. Beulah was active for many years in the community, serving as the Past Worthy Matron of the Silver Star Chapter 74 Order Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliated of the State of Illinois and its Jurisdiction, Past Loyal Lady Ruler of Menelik Assembly #58 Order of the Golden Circle, and Past Illustrious Commandress of Kamar Court #113 of Springfield, Illinois. She was a faithful member of Zion Baptist church for many years, and was part of the Mothers Ministry. Beulah loved her family, reading the daily scripture, doing puzzle word searches and an occasional visit to the Casino. She also was an avid Chicago Bulls fan. Beulah was high tech…she enjoyed facetiming with her family and friends. Sis. Bradley leaves to cherish her precious memories a large loving family, including her daughter, Tonie L. Stephens of Phoenix, AZ; her son, Brian S. Bradley of Peoria, IL; 11 grandchildren, including her grandson Amahd, who took wonderful care of her as her personal caregiver; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family of friends. She adopted several daughters and grandchildren as her own over the years. Her gift was unconditional love, acceptance, and kindness. She is preceded in death by loving husband, William “Sonny” Bradley, her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister. A private memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Zion Baptist Church with a visitation at 12:00 noon. Pastor Samuel Duren will officiate. Beulah will be entombed at Resurrection Mausoleum along with her husband. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at SimonsMortuary.com. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance, funerals are limited to 10 family members of the decedents, not including the staff at Simon Mortuary. To be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services. Funerals are limited to no more than 10 of the decedent’s immediate family members. *In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them). *It is our responsibility as a Funeral Directors, to do everything we can to advise families in order to honor our beloved Families and to keep everyone as safe as possible. All others will be able to flow through prior to beginning of the service. Thanks in advance for your cooperation!
