She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings. Missionary Cathy was a praise warrior. She loved to praise the Lord no matter where she was! When her mother first moved to Peoria in 1969, she became a member at All Nations Pentecostal Church under the leadership of the late Rev. E. Turner. Later she joined Glorious Church of Jesus Christ under the leadership of the late Overseer A. Rutherford. It was at Glorious Church she received the Holy Ghost at the age of 12. While living in Huntsville, AL, she joined Pentecostal Lighthouse Church under the leadership of Pastor J. Burrell. It was at Pentecostal Lighthouse she accepted her call to the ministry. She last served at her brother’s church, Greater Bibleway Apostolic, under Pastor Earnest Rodgers. She served wherever she could; such as, church secretary, treasurer, youth and adult choir director, Sunday school teacher, youth president and so much more. Cathy was a big supporter of the Big Dad Program and many other programs that her girls were involved in such as the Peoria Tri-County Urban Leagues’ TSTM Program, Upward Bound and the Integrity Gospel Singers to name a few. In 2009 she petitioned for a graduation ceremony for the eighth graders at Roosevelt Magnet School. She coordinated the ceremony and class trip. Cathy loved and supported her family and was always the family “go to” person. She kept up with events and family milestones and coordinated family reunions and newsletters. Missionary Cathy loved to praise the Lord, play with her grand babies, and hang out with her sisters. She was a great friend and encourager to many, touching and inspiring people with her words of encouragement. She was a great prayer warrior and was a devoted and loving mother. Cathy was a jewel that valued her family and her home. She leaves us with great memories of a dedicated, powerful and inspiring woman of God. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance limits will be observed. As the States begin re-opening in response to the Global Coronavirus Pandemic, some people are returning to their previous normal living standards. Unfortunately, we are now in our new normal as unreal and sometimes uncomfortable as the socially distancing and continuous use of protective masks may feel. *In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them). Thanks in advance for your cooperation! *It is our responsibility as a Funeral Directors, to do everything we can to advise families in order to honor our beloved Families and to keep everyone as safe as possible. The church can socially distance and seat a limit of 50 or less people. All others will be able to flow through and view prior to beginning the funeral service.
