Ms. Cherish Jeton Coleman, 30, of Peoria, Illinois passed away at 7 pm on Friday, February 12, 2021. Cherish was born on June 8, 1990 in Peoria, IL to Kimberly Coleman and Ricardo “Ricky” Johnson. Cherish was a multi-talented entrepreneur, having a dream of one day owning her own beauty salon. She was a ray of sunshine and full of energy. Cherish always positively impacted others. She loved people and never met a stranger. She loved to sing, dance and rap, amongst other things. Cherish leaves to hold dear her most precious memories and legacy her parents, Kimberly Coleman of Peoria, IL and Ricardo (Mosetta) Johnson of Indianapolis, IN; one son, Legend Coleman-Powell of Peoria, IL; two daughters, Lyberti Coleman and Kymbree Coleman both of Peoria, IL; eight brothers, Cory (Amanda) Pastoriza of Chicago, IL, Larenzo (Alba) Coleman of Kansas City, MO, Demarco Cotton, Casey Johnson, Katay Johnson, Markese Wilson, Koby Johnson and Malachai Johnson; seven sisters, Chinetha Cotton, Kiamber Taylor, Kianna Cotton, Rakea Johnson, Cassidy Johnson, LaShay Hayes and JaQuash Hatch and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends who adored her. She is preceded in death by her sister, Keishana Curry. A private funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Victory Christian Church with a visitation beginning prior at 10 am. Pastor Charles “Chuck” Brown will officiate and Pastor Brenda Russell will bring forth the eulogy. Cherish will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance limits will be observed. In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health, Funerals are limited to no more than 25% or less people at the church. To be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services. Funerals are limited to no more than 25% of the decedent’s immediate family members. *In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them). *It is our responsibility as a Funeral Directors, to do everything we can to advise families in order to honor our beloved Families and to keep everyone as safe as possible.
