Ms. Christine McCall, 61, of Peoria, IL passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 10:50 pm at UnityPoint Health Methodist. Christine was born on April 12, 1960 in Peoria, IL to Essex, Sr. and Dorothy (Byrd) Higgins. Christine was a bus driver for Peoria School District 150, she also worked in the cafeteria at Proctor Hospital. She attended Peoria Central High School, where she loved to dance in the school talent shows. Christine loved reading the newspaper, music and cooking. She enjoyed watching her favorite soap opera, ‘The Young and the Restless”. Christine always spoke her mind. Christine leaves to cherish her most precious memories; one son, James McCall; two daughters, Chrishawna McCall and Kamali McCall; five brothers, Essex (Robin) Higgins, Jr., Freddie Higgins and Kevin (JenNell Lewis) Higgins all of Peoria, IL, Vincent “Michael” Higgins and Jay Higgins both of Long Beach, CA; one sister, Rosie Summerville of Peoria, IL; her significant other, Larry Scott; 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends that loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Danny Higgins. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church with a visitation at 9 am. Pastor Alvin Riley, Sr., will officiate.
