Mrs. Clotee Carpenter-Pace, 68, of Peoria, IL passed away at her residence on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2:25 am. Clotee was born on February 9, 1953 in Belzoni, MS to Pearl Marie (Esper) and Levi Carpenter, Sr. She married Sammie Pace; he preceded her in death. Clotee was a personal assistant in the Health Care Industry for many years. She loved cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a foster mother for many years and raised many kids from the community. Clotee leaves to cherish her loving memory four sons, Latrell Carpenter, Seldrick and Tevar Carpenter all of Peoria and Perry Carpenter of Bloomington, IL; two daughters, Deashia and Jadiah Carpenter of Peoria, IL; four brothers, David (Doris) Carpenter and Levi Carpenter both of Chicago, IL, James Carpenter and Sammie Carpenter both of Peoria, IL; four sisters, Evelyn (Willie Earl) Bowen of Belzoni, MS, Laverne (Melvin) Moore of Chicago, Patricia Carpenter of Peoria and Brenda (Emery) Milton of Indianola, MS; a host of grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren and also a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Clotee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Lela Murrell and Kim McDaniel, two brothers Barry and Eddie Carpenter and her grandson, La’Aaron Carpenter. A Funeral service will Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Sovereign Grace M.B. Church with a one-hour visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Pastor Alvin Riley will officiate. Clotee will be laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery. Online condolences maybe made at SimonsMortuary.com.
