    Mrs. Comelia Scott

    October 8, 1934 - May 11, 2022

    Mrs. Comelia Scott, 87, of Peoria, IL passed away at 10:25 pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at her residence. Comelia was born on October 8, 1934 in Hushpunkena, Mississippi to Lee Williams and Block Pickens. She married the love of her life, Eddie Lee Scott, Sr. ; he preceded her in death in 1996. Comelia was a loving person who liked being with her family. Comelia loved to cook, shop, travel and talking to her kids and grandkids every day. Comelia loved to watch her favorite TV shows and do her puzzle books daily. She loved talking about the good old days, including her parents and siblings. Comelia liked when it was her birthday or a holiday season to get showered with gifts. She truly loved balloons and cards. Her nickname was the Queen given to her by her late brother, Lawson Pickens. Comelia leaves to cherish her most precious memories seven sons, Sam Moore of Ft. Pierce, FL, Howard (Stephanie) Scott, Roosevelt Scott, Willie Scott, Richard Scott, David Scott all of Peoria, IL and Michael Scott of Chicago, IL; six daughters, Mary Booth and Ruby Scott of Chicago, IL, Ethel Keats and Doris Barnes of Peoria, IL, Jean Scott of Dallas, TX and Denise Scott of Dunlap, IL; 52 grandchildren, a host of great and great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; her husband; one son, Eddie Lee Scott, Jr.; two grandsons, Howard Lee Scott, Jr. and Eddie Lee Scott, II; two brothers, Jack Pickens and Lawson Pickens; and two sisters, Ruby Phillips and Elma Williams. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Grace Apostolic Assembly with a visitation beginning at 10 am. Suffragan Bishop James Ware will officiate. Comelia will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at SimonsMortuary.com.
