Miss Destiny A’Sha Smith, 19, of Peoria, Illinois transitioned from this life to her heavenly home at 11:06 am on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital. Destiny, affectionately known as “NeNe”, was born on April 21, 2001 in Chicago, Illinois to Melissa Elizabeth Smith-Jones and Michael Antoino Davison, Sr. Destiny loved God and accepted Christ as her personal Savior; she made sure to put Him first. She graduated High School from Manual Academy on May 18, 2019. She was very popular and loved by many. She obtained her Culinary Arts Diploma and worked at JJ’s Fish and Chicken for 5 years. NeNe was an all-around young lady with a gorgeous smile. She loved her family and friends and the absolute loves of her life was her precious baby girl, Nae’Ture Vincent and her fiancé, Zacariah “Teno” Vincent. Destiny leaves to cherish her most precious memories her loving and devoted parents, Melissa (Riley) Jones of Peoria, IL; her father, Michael Antoino Davison, Sr., of Chicago, IL; her baby girl, Nae’Ture Amor Vincent and the love of her life, Zacariah Vincent; two sisters, Dynasty Smith of Peoria, IL and Taniyah Davison of Chicago, IL; Dyrell Smith of Peoria, IL, Da’Quan Davison, Marshawn Davison, Michael Davison, Jr., Kyrie Davison, Jevon Davison and Mirell Davison all of Chicago, IL; her paternal grandmother, Renita Davison of Chicago, IL; 4 uncles, Larry (Rekeyia) Kemp, Norris Davison, Damon Davison and Terrell Gage all of Chicago; four aunts, Amy Smith, LaKeesha Smith, Sherry Smith and Daphne Smith all of Chicago, IL; and a host of cousins and many friends who adored her. She is preceded in death by her brother, Darnell Anthony Hall; her maternal grandparents, Larry Kemp, Sr., and Deborah Smith and her paternal grandfather, Michael Scott. A private funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church with a visitation beginning two hours prior at 11 am. Pastor Alvin Riley, Sr., will officiate. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at simonsmortuary.com. The service will be live streamed on Simons Mortuary's Website or Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Simons-Mortuary-232095303487150 promptly AT THE TIME OF THE SERVICE. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance limits will be observed. In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health, Funerals are limited to 50 family members of the decedents, not including the staff at Simon Mortuary and no more than 25% or less people at the church. To be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services. Funerals are limited to no more than 10 of the decedent’s immediate family members. *In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them). *It is our responsibility as a Funeral Directors, to do everything we can to advise families in order to honor our beloved Families and to keep everyone as safe as possible.
