Ms. Diane Hollis

Ms. Diane Hollis, age 68, of Peoria, IL transitioned to Heaven peacefully at 9:43 AM on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. The family is comforted in the knowledge that she is now in the presence of the Lord. Diane was born on April 11, 1951 in Chicago, IL to Robert, Sr., and Minnie (Harris) Hollis. Diane formerly worked at Human Service Center as a Clinical Support Technician. Diane was a strong woman of faith and stood on God’s word. She was a loving, kind and compassionate woman with a big heart. She would do anything she could to help others. Diane loved her family and was loved by many people. She was happiest in life just hanging out with her children, grandchildren and family, enjoying each other with laughter. Diane was an avid reader whose passions included cooking, dancing, decorating and traveling. She loved her pets and would never turn down a good movie. She loved to dress and had a passion for shoes. As a prayer warrior, she fought the good fight of Faith. Diane leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Gayland (Jill Bonds) Hollis of Milwaukee, WI and Eric Hollis of Peoria, IL; two daughters, Crystal Hollis Evans and Aretha (Vida) Johnson both of Peoria, IL; two brothers, Robert (Robin) Hollis, Jr., of Peoria, IL and Kenneth (Dawn) Hollis of Springfield, IL; two sisters, Sheila Hollis and Theresa Hollis both of Peoria, IL; eleven grandchildren, Alisha (Antoine) Mance, Alexys Evans, Whitney Shelton, September Hollis, Marrissa Hollis, Sydney Johnson, Michelle Beasley, Davante Johnson, Imani Johnson, Arie Johnson and Jaida Johnson; six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her children, Michelle and Brandon Hollis, one brother, Roger Hollis and two grandchildren, Felicia Hollis and Ashley Hollis. Diane was a faithful and longtime member of Star of Hope Full Gospel Church where funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, July 20, 2019 with a visitation beginning at 9 am. Bishop Joseph Johnson will officiate. Diane will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at SimonsMortuary.com.
