Mr. Dionte Mateo Davis, 22, of Peoria, Illinois passed away at 12 noon on Thursday, April 29, 2021. Dionte was born on December 1, 1998 in Peoria, IL to Casandra Jones and Wiley Austin. Dionte was a 2017 Peoria Central High School graduate. He later received a certificate of completion from Robert A. Jamieson School for job development training in November 2019. Dionte loved music, which included old school, rap and R & B songs. He liked to play basketball and go for long walks. Dionte loved to watch wrestling on TV and play video games. Dionte loved spending time with family and friends. Dionte leaves to cherish his most precious memories his parents, Casandra Jones and Dexter Hines both of Peoria; father, Willie Austin of Tennessee; two brothers, Shtri “Tray” of Ludowici, GA, King Tyrone of Peoria, IL, Iverson and Dee of Brownsville, TN; two sisters, Alexis and Desteana both of Brownsville, TN; grandfather, Freddie Henning of Peoria, IL and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Rosemary Davis. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church with a visitation prior at 9 am. Pastor Alvin Riley, Sr. will officiate. Dionte will be laid to rest at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance limits will be observed. In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health, Funerals are limited to no more than 50% of the capacity of the church or less. To be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services. Funerals are limited to no more than 50% of the decedent’s immediate family members. *In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them). *It is our responsibility as a Funeral Directors, to do everything we can to advise families in order to honor our beloved Families and to keep everyone as safe as possible.
