Ms. Hattie B. Harris, 72, of Peoria Illinois transition to her heavenly home at 5:50 PM on Friday, May 21, 2021 at UnityPoint Methodist hospital. Hattie was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Inez Williams and Leslie White. She moved to Peoria Illinois at an early age and began her 40 year career with Caterpillar Tractor, Inc. She retired in 2010. Although Hattie was a homebody, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for cooking cleaning and being a fashion diva. She even like playing a few games of spades and her favorite, 1500 rummy. Hattie had a good heart. She would give her last to help others in need. Hattie loved the Lord. She last attended Calvary Baptist Church. Hattie leaves to cherish her most precious memory her loving and devoted daughter Perdina Daugherty of Peoria Illinois; four sisters, Diane Singleton, Linda Brown, Cassundra Powell and Alice Weatherly all of Peoria Illinois; One brother Donald (Mylita) White of Peoria; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; her special friend Walter Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The family gives special thanks to Hattie‘s caregiver, Jessine. Hattie is preceded in death by her parents; her second mother, Annie Moss; One daughter, Samantha Brown; one sister, Geraldine Singleton; four brothers, Marvin McShan, Frankie White, Ronald White and James White. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church with the visitation at 9 AM. Pastor Alvin Riley will officiate. The service will be live streamed on Simons Mortuary's Website or Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Simons-Mortuary-232095303487150 promptly AT THE TIME OF THE SERVICE. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance limits will be observed. In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health, Funerals are limited to no more than 50% of the capacity of the church or less. To be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services. Funerals are limited to no more than 50% of the decedent’s immediate family members. *In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them). *It is our responsibility as a Funeral Directors, to do everything we can to advise families in order to honor our beloved Families and to keep everyone as safe as possible. The chapel can socially distance and seat 50% of its capacity. All others will be able to flow through prior to beginning of the service. Thanks in advance for your cooperation!
