    Mrs. Hilda Mae Tyler

    August 14, 1930 - November 2, 2020

Mrs. Hilda Mae Tyler, 90, of Peoria, IL passed away at 6:34 pm on Monday, November 2, 2020. Hilda was born on August 14, 1930 in Eads, TN to Cercy and Luerinda (Harris) Redd. She married Clarence “CB” Tyler in 1959. They were married for 31 years until his death in 1990. Hilda Mae worked as a Forklift Driver at Caterpillar and was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Lutheran Social Services. She was a very kind and caring person who cared for a lot of people. Hilda Mae loved cooking and loved her family especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church until she became disabled. Hilda Mae leaves to cherish her most precious memories, her son, James (Barbara) Brooks of Peoria, IL; her nephew, William Redd, Jr. of Memphis, TN; her caregiver, Ricky Bruce of Peoria, IL; three grandchildren, Kaisha (Keith) Johnson, James (Courtney) Mason and Doniesha (Randy Anderson) Mason; nine great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, Cari Mason; her niece, Shirley Faye Redd-Jefferson of Houston, TX; her favorite nephews, General John Parker, Sr. of Savannah, GA and Loys Parker, Jr. of Peoria and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Willie Redd and William Redd, Sr. A private funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Simons Mortuary Chapel with a one-hour visitation beginning at 10 am. Pastor Levi Tyler of Springfield M.B. Church, Detroit, MI will bring words of comfort to the family. Hilda Mae will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery. Simons Mortuary is entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at SimonsMortuary.com. The funeral service will be live-streamed on Simons Mortuary's Website or Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Simons-Mortuary-232095303487150 promptly at the time of the service. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance limits will be observed. The sanctuary can socially distance and seat a limit of 35 or less people. All others will be able to flow through and view prior to beginning the Celebration of Life Ceremony. As the States begin re-opening in response to the Global Coronavirus Pandemic, some people are returning to their previous normal living standards. Unfortunately, we are now in our new normal as unreal and sometimes uncomfortable as the socially distancing and continuous use of protective masks may feel. *In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them). Thanks in advance for your cooperation! *It is our responsibility as Funeral Directors, to do everything we can to advise families in order to honor our beloved Families and to keep everyone as safe as possible.
