Mr. James Eddie Jorden Jr., 67, of Peoria, IL passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 7:45 am at his home. James was born on November 2, 1954 in Carrollton County, MS to the late Etoil Purnell Jorden and James Eddie Jorden Sr. In 1995, he married his beloved wife, Sandra Kay Jorden. He was a 27-year member of the Laborer Local Union 165 beginning June of 1994 and retired in 2019. He also served as a security guard for 26 years at Lowell’s grocery store, Walgreens, Walmart, LA’s Connection and other various businesses around Peoria. James was an avid bowler and gardener over the years. He loved his family; especially spending time with his grandchildren. James leaves to cherish his precious memories, one son James Jorden, III of Peoria, IL; four daughters, Cynthia Boles of Peoria, IL, Rebecca (Marcus) Moore of Oklahoma City, OK, Mary (Greg) Burnside of Peoria, IL, and Cassandra (Harold) McGhee of Herrin, IL; two sisters, Rosie (Alford) McGhee of Greenwood, MS and Mary (Mark) Gaston of Jacksonville, Florida; three Bothers Johnny (Margaret) Jorden of Peoria, IL, Billy Jorden and Willie Jorden both of Greenwood, MS; one step daughter Andrea (Todd) Purifoy, and two step sons, Terry (Tiffany) Lawson of Kansas, MO, and Jermaine (Kim) Lawson of Griffith, IN. Twenty-one grandchildren and six great grandchildren; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who loved and will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Kay Jorden; his Father, James Jorden Sr.; his mother Etoil Purnell Jorden; his brother Robert Earl Jorden; his sister Hattie Jorden; his sister-in-law Charlene Jorden; his nephew Christopher Jorden; and his grandson Tommie Forrest III. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Simons Mortuary with a visitation at 9 am. Suffragan Bishop James Ware will officiate. James will be laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at SimonsMortuary.com.
