Kendra Lynette Williams, age 45, mother of five loving children and a dear sister, went home to be in the presence of our LORD on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 6:49 pm at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital. Kendra was born on January 21, 1975, in Peoria, IL, to Betty Lou Williams and Willie Lee Fair of Blytheville, AR. She attended Central High School and received her CNA in Champaign, IL, in 2005. She provided patient care in Peoria, IL for over 15 years. She had a natural affinity to care for the elderly. Kendra met her fiancé, Roosevelt “Roe” Mays, with whom she was raising her two sons; Kameron, 9, and Ky'Ran 8, on September 15, 2017, Kendra also has three adult children whom she simply adored, and spoiled constantly; Alantra, Patrick “PJ”, and Kei'Ana, and one grandson, Amyre Williams. She is also survived by her sister Martha “Marie” (Pitts) Evans; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and best friends. Kendra had two passions in life, braiding hair and playing spades, she was talented in both. She combined these talents in ways that bought joy and festivities into her life. Kendra was a very charismatic person. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and people loved her for her cheerful and compassionate spirit. She could fill a room with her infectious laughter. She was also, an avid music lover and movie buff. When we think of Kendra, we think of the song Joy and Pain, Sunshine and Rain because it expresses the hills and valleys in her life and yet she still came out a winner. Kendra was preceded in death by her mother, Betty, father Willie. Grandparents, Tommie and Ora Bea Williams, aunt Deloris Williams, and uncle, Tommie Williams Jr. A private funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 30, 2021 with a visitation beginning at 11 am at Redeemer Presbyterian church at 2025 N.
