Mr. Kennard “Ken” Wilson Hardy, Jr., 23, of Peoria, IL passed away at 12:44 AM on Monday, September 9, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Ken was born on October 2, 1995 in Peoria, IL to Kimberly Bridwell and Kennard Hardy, Sr. Ken worked for Xtreme Sounds, Bartonville, IL and Barney’s Auto of Peoria as a car audio installer. He loved music and cars and going to car shows. Ken was very competitive and especially loved audio competitions. He also loved riding four-wheelers. Ken had an infectious personality who was very jovial and outgoing. He was a great debater who loved to playfully annoy people. He was an awesome dancer. Ken loved his children and was known to play and interact with them and his nephews. Ken was a very good care giver to his grandmother and grandfather. He was very loving and caring to others as well. Ken leaves to cherish his most precious memory his parents, Kimberly (Tom) Harris of Peoria, IL and Kennard, Sr. (Renae) Hardy of Des Moines, IA; two daughters, Aniah Hardy of Phoenix, AZ, Kenedi Hardy of Peoria, IL and a baby on the way: two brothers, Cornelius Hardy and DeMarco Cotton both of Peoria, IL; eight sisters, Lamika (Kevin) Mallard of Broken Arrow, OK, Shamika Hardy, Kendra Hardy both of Peoria, IL, Joshica Farmer of Springfield, IL, Kiara Hardy of Houston, TX, Haylie Harris, Jasmine Hardy-Turner and Nicole Hardy-Turner all of Peoria, IL; his grandparents, Vicki Bridwell of Peoria, IL, Jo Harris of Aumsville, OR and Barney Allen of Peoria, IL; great grandmother, Trudy Jackson of Peoria, IL; his companion, Brayshea Morris of Peoria, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Irma and James Hardy, Jr.; great grandfather, Everett Jackson; two uncles, Christopher Allen and James Binion; and one aunt, Virginia Williams. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Sovereign Grace M. B. Church with a visitation beginning at 11 am. Bishop Kevin Hill of Church of the Living God LBLC#1 and Pastor Earnest Rodgers of Greater Apostolic Bibleway Church will officiate. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
