February 4, 1967 - September 20, 2017
Mrs. Linda Kay Young, 50, of Peoria, IL peacefully transitioned from this life to her eternal home at 7:10 pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Linda was born on February 4, 1967 in Ripley, Tennessee to John, Sr., and Louise (Green) Webster. She received her formal education from Peoria District 150 schools where she formerly worked for many years. Linda accepted Christ at an early age. She had the voice of an angel and loved to sing for the Lord. It was God’s plan that she met the love of her life, Marlon E. Young, at a gospel concert in 1993. They were married seven months later on February 19, 1994 in Peoria. Marlon, Sr., and Linda later co-founded Morning Glory Ministries, now known as Morning Glory Community Church. First Lady Linda was also founder of the Victory Walkers Ministry at their church. Linda had an agape love for everyone; hence, everyone loved her back. She had a kind and gentle spirit with a captivating beauty and smile seen by everyone she met. Linda was soft spoken; but her understanding voice was heard loud and powerful by many. She was a mentor to many, always having an ear to other folks’ problems; but never taking sides. She was fair and nonjudgmental. She loved her children; but was also a mother figure to other children in the community. Linda was a very stylish lady who loved shopping; but her passion in life was love for God, her husband, Marlon, Sr., and their children. Linda leaves to cherish her most precious memories her loving and devoted husband, Pastor Marlon E. Young, Sr., of Peoria; her mother, Louise Davis of Peoria; their nine children, Cori (Calandra) of Rockford, IL, Bruce (Diedre), Marques (Ashley), Marlon, Jr., (Aymber) all of Peoria, Tiffany (Tony) Brown of Colorado Springs, CO, Alynzcia “Blair” (Thomas) McMurray of Tennessee, MarTica (DuOne) and MarNisha both of Sumpter, SC and Zariah of Peoria; four brothers, John Webster, Jr., of Denver, CO, Dwight Webster, Robert “Jerry” Webster and Willie James Webster all of Peoria; one sister, Mary “Jannie” Webster of Peoria; 20 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and her Morning Glory Community Church Family. She is preceded in death by her father. Funeral services for Lady Linda will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at St. Paul Baptist Church with a visitation two hours prior to the service beginning at 9 am. Host Pastor Deveraux Hubbard. Bishop Wesley J. Arije, Pastor of Pavilion of Hope Church in Memphis, TN, will bring the eulogy. Lady Linda will be entombed at Swan Lake Mausoleum. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at simonsmortuary.com.
