    Mrs. Maxline Brown

    March 18, 1943 - November 17, 2021

    Mrs. Maxline Brown, 78, of Peoria, transitioned on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 3:02pm at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Maxline was born in Jackson, Mississippi to John and Lizzie Mae (Adams) Jackson. Maxline moved from Mississippi in 1973 after the death of her 1st husband, Eugene Brown. She later married Baker; he passed away in 2001. Maxline was fun loving and a hard worker. She worked at Bradley University in their custodial department, retiring in 1998 after over 20 years of service. She was an amazing cook and card player. She loved spending time with her family, but watching Young and the Restless was her favorite past time besides sitting on the porch. Maxline was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church where she served on the Mothers Board. Maxline leaves to cherish her most precious memories two loving and devoted sons, Eugene (Crystal) Jackson, Jr., and Jimmie Brown both of Peoria, IL; two brothers, Ronnie (Diane) Smith of Jackson, MS and Alvin Smith of Peoria, IL; step children, Luella Pullen, Charlesetta Pullen and Cecil Pullen all of Memphis, TN; 14 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces; nephews, other relatives and friends. She is also preceded in death by her parents; 1 daughter, Sheron Brown; 2 sisters, Kiler Smith and Sylvia Smith; two brothers, Nathaniel Smith and Talley Smith; one grandson, Mario Pullen and one great great grandson, Sammy Beason, Jr., 1 step son, Edward Pullen and 1 step daughter, Laura Slaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Zion Baptist Church with a visitation one-hour prior beginning at 10 am. Pastor Samuel Duren will officiate. Maxline will be laid to rest at Historic Springdale Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at simonsmortuary.com.
