    Ms. Renea Ann Miller Bolden

    May 5, 1956 - March 28, 2017

Ms. Renea Ann Bolden, 60, of West Peoria, IL passed away peacefully at 11:15 pm on March 28, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Renea was born in Chicago, IL on May 5, 1956 to a loving father, George Hightower. She was a 1974 graduate of Woodruff High School. She married Willie Warren Miller October 29, 1988 in Peoria, he survives. Renea was a great woman of faith. Her grandmother, Gertrude Hightower, was most influential in Renea’s life; it was she who instilled those values in her. No matter her journey, she never gave up. Renea was a strong woman who had a great work ethic. As a young woman, she taught Sunday school and vacation bible study at New Morning Star under the leadership of her uncle, Pastor Calvin Hightower. She worked in the healthcare industry during her illness until she could no longer do so. She loved children and was a foster parent for many children over the years. Renea was super loving and generous to a fault. She loved to cook and take care of others. Over the years, Renea collected porcelain dolls which she loved, but were not appealing to others. Renea leaves to cherish her most precious memory; five daughters, Gabrielle “Shanna” (David, Sr.) Heerman of Peoria; Kyie (Terrell) Hess of W. Peoria, Shekila (Willie) Roberts of Chicago, IL, Letoyia Miller of Bloomington and Delisha Bolden of Peoria; three sons, Andrew Miller, Lewis Miller and Elijah Bolden all of Peoria; five sisters, Debbie Lynn (Thomas “Tony”) Gillespie of Atlanta, GA, Racine Johnson, Pearline (Ron) Lozan and Gail Foster all of Peoria and Joie Hightower - Thompson of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Raymond Compton of Peoria and Jerome Compton of Lawton, OK; 23 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; special friends, Angelita Guevara, Pam Johnson, Kathryn Dyes and Ina Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father; her baby boy, Michael M. Miller, grandmother, Gertrude Hightower and god mother, Moulean Compton. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1427 W. Lake Avenue, with a visitation at 10 am. Host Pastor William R. Dohle, Jr., and Pastor Marvin Hightower will officiate. Renea will be entombed at Swan Lake Mausoleum. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
