Ms. Renee Lynn Linwood, 62, of Peoria, Illinois, transitioned to her heavenly home at 9:43 pm on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Renee was born in Peoria, Illinois on January 1, 1959 to Robert, Sr. and Elease (Lobdell) Linwood. Renee worked at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in housekeeping. She was a 1977 graduate of Manual High School where she was on the volleyball and track team, played the clarinet in the band and violin in the orchestra. Renee was notorious for making Facebook birthday post for all the family and friends because she knew everyone’s birthday. She was the family’s private investigator on Facebook. She named most of her family’s children. Renee attended St. Paul Baptist Church. Renee leaves to cherish her most precious memories her loving and devoted son, Ahteba Linwood; three brothers, DeWayne (Phyllis) Linwood, Robert (Aaron) Linwood and Terry Linwood all of Peoria, IL; five sisters, Barbara Linwood of Nashville, TN, Gwendolyn (Ted) Spinks, Elana Linwood, Chawana Linwood and Lerra Linwood all of Peoria, IL; fifteen grandchildren, Ahtesha Linwood, whom she raised, thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles Linwood, Larry Linwood and Stevie Linwood and one sister, Vetta Linwood. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 31, 2021 at St. Paul Baptist. There will not be a visitation. Pastor Deveraux Hubbard will officiate. Renee will be laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at simonsmortuary.com.
