Mr. Rodney Cardell Golar, age 56, passed away at 6:21 pm on Friday, November19, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. Rodney was born on August 3, 1965, in Chicago, IL, to Nina Golar and Earl Robinson. He married the love of his life Piper Boclair in 1999 in Chicago, IL after dating 14 years prior to marriage. Rodney worked at Four Points by Sheridan as a cook and maintenance. He enjoyed playing cards, Dominos and watching sports. He was a 1983 graduate of Marshall High School, Chicago, IL. Rodney completed truck driving school in Chicago, IL. He was a diehard Duke Blue Devils College Basketball Fan. Rodney leaves to cherish his most precious memories his wife Piper Golar of Peoria, IL; two daughters, Natasha (DeMarko) Harris of Peoria, IL and LaRhonda Logan of Chicago, IL; his mother, Nina Clark of Peoria, IL; four grandchildren, Talibe, Melvin, Maliq and Adrienne; bonus daughters, Octavia, Tracey and Atreona; mother-in-law, Annette Boclair; two sister-in-laws, Jeanette and Brenda; three brother-in-laws, Tyrone, Sidney and Darryl and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rodney is preceded in death by his father, his step father who raised him, Tommie Clark, one brother, Byron Golar, special aunt, Nadine Floyd and one brother-in-law, Ronnie Boclair. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, December 11 am at Pilgrims’ Progress C.O.G.I.C., with a visitation beginning at 11 am. Elder James Taylor will officiate. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at SimonsMortuary.com. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance limits will be observed. In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health, Funerals are limited to no more than 50% of the capacity of the sanctuary or less. To be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services.
