Mr. William “Billy” Finus Bledsoe, 70, of Peoria, passed away at 3:01pm on Friday, August 6, 2021 at UnityPoint Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. William was born on July 2, 1951 in Madison, Illinois to Rev. William and Hazel (Rasberry) Bledsoe. He married Brenda Bledsoe. William leaves to cherish his most precious memories, his mother, Hazel Bledsoe; one brother, Paul (Sharmel) Bledsoe; two sisters, Julia Goodman and Pearl (Clemett) Phillips all of St. Louis, MO; nieces, Tasha Barmore, Erica (Robert) Jackson of St. Louis, MO; Kristen Thomas of Hinesville, GA; nephews, Abraham (Angela) Thompson, Keith (Trish) Thompson, Rodney Thompson, Jeffery Thompson and Timmy (Michelle) Murray all of Chicago, IL, and Scott (Stephanie) Woods and Keanon Woods of St. Louis, MO, many great nieces, nephews, devoted cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father and two sisters, Susie Bledsoe and Wilma Murray. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Simons Mortuary Chapel with a visitation beginning an hour prior at 10 am. Minister Robert Jackson of St. Louis, MO will officiate. William will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at SimonsMortuary.com. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance, funerals are limited to 55 family members of the decedents, not including the staff at Simons Mortuary. The chapel can socially distance and seat no more than 55 or less people. All others will be able to flow through prior to beginning of the service. To be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services. Funerals are limited to no more than 55 of the decedent’s immediate family members. *In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them). *It is our responsibility as a Funeral Directors, to do everything we can to advise families in order to honor our beloved Families and to keep everyone as safe as possible.
