Mrs. Bettie Nix Holcomb

Mrs. Bettie Nix Holcomb, 65, of Peoria, Illinois transitioned to her heavenly home at 5:44 pm on Monday, January 16, 2023 at UnityPoint Health Methodist Hospital. Bettie was born on October 4, 1957 in Abilene, Texas to Thomas and Ruth (Wilson) Nix. The love of her life, Forrest Holcomb, Jr., moved her from sunny Victorville, CA to Peoria, IL in 2003 and they married May 5, 2004 in Peoria, Illinois. Bettie last worked for DORS with the State of Illinois as a personal assistant. She formerly worked as a domestic engineer for many years. Bettie attended Culinary School and was an amazing Chef. She loved her grandchildren and loved sneaking candy to them. Bettie enjoyed fishing, camping and going to the Casino. Bettie leaves to cherish her most precious memory her loving and devoted husband, Forrest, Jr., of Peoria, IL; four sons, Tamar (Wendy) Marion of Las Vegas, NV, Forrest Holcomb, III of Peoria, IL, Lavar Morris of Sycamore, IL and Demario (Aiesha) Holcomb of Berea, KY; seven daughters, Amber Marion of Las Vegas, NV, Florrenda Holcomb of Lexington, KY, Felicia Holcomb of Peoria, IL; Faith Parker of East Chicago, IN, Javiana (Willie) Smith of Baton Rouge, LA, Carolyn Holcomb of Las Vegas, NV and Dominique Jones of Savannah, GA; one brother, Gregory (Myesha) Nix of Moreno Valley, CA; one favorite brother-in-law, Clifford Holcomb of Peoria, IL and 19 grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends who loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents; her step mother, Ruby Nix; one son, Christopher Holcomb. Bettie, we love you and you will be truly missed! A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00AM at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church with a visitation beginning one hour prior at 10:00AM.
