Mr. Christopher Terrell Harness, Sr., 46, of Peoria, Illinois passed away at 8:48 pm on Monday, October 24, 2022 in Peoria, IL. Christopher was born on December 9, 1975 in Peoria, IL to Ethel (Williams) Harness and Earl Hunter, Sr. Christopher last worked as a welder at Caterpillar Inc. He was turning his life around and was so happy when he got his dream job as a machinist at Caterpillar Inc. He received his welding certificate from MTI (Midwest Technical Institute). Christopher also worked at O’Brien Steel Service Company as a welder. Christopher loved cars, especially old school Chevys. Christopher was a loyal, loving, kind, understanding and a non-confrontational person. He was family oriented who loved his children. Christopher didn’t play when it came to his children. He had a nickname for each one of them; his son, Christopher, Jr. was “Bullheaded”, Tyra was “Fats”, Nia was “Little Crystal” and Teiara was “Angela Bassett”. He loved his grandchildren and he had a nickname for all of them as well. Christopher had a great love for his siblings that no one could touch or destroy. Christopher leaves to cherish his most precious memories his son, Christopher Harness, Jr.; three daughters, Tyra Williams, Nia Allen and Teiara Williams all of Peoria, IL; seven brothers, Benny Kelly, Dwayne Williams, Jermaine Hunter, Henry (Elizabeth) Ray, Earl Hunter, Jr., Benjamin Hunter and Extasiante Hunter; six sisters, Sandra Bernard, Kathy Williams, Lisa (Gayland) Ford, Kimberly Walker, Earline Kimbrough-Jones and Felisha Hunter; His second mom, Brenda Dailey; his significant other, Chemica Jones; step daughter, Yemonni Russell; special friends and mothers of his children, Annette Williams, Crystal Roddy and Cassandra Washington; 8 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, best friend/brother, Cortez Dailey and brother-in-law, Pete Walker. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Simons Mortuary with a visitation beginning at 9 am. Rev. Dr. Pat Pollard, Pastor of New Bethel M.B. Church, will officiate. Christopher will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at SimonsMortuary.com.
