Mr. Curtis Allan Crooks, age 64, passed away at 1 pm on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at River Crossing Nursing Facility of Peoria, IL. Curtis was born on February 3, 1957, in Peoria, IL to Mary Louise (Crooks) and Gus Barnes, Sr. Curtis loved music, basketball and was a diehard Chicago Bears fan. He loved to celebrate his birthday and Super Bowl Sunday with his family. Curtis leaves to cherish his most precious memories his step father, Sammy Clark, Sr. of Peoria, IL; his children, Freda Osler of St. Paul, MN and Howard Jones of Peoria, IL; his step children, Kevin Giles, Quincy Jones and Curtis Jones and Aliya Jones all of Peoria, IL; three sisters, Alisa (Robert) Hinton of Peoria, IL, Veronica Watson of Indianapolis, IN and Vanetta Watson of Fort Worth, TX; one step brother, Sammy Clark, Jr., of Peoria, IL; two step sisters, Virginia “Ginny” Clark and Shauna Clark both of Peoria, IL; his lifelong companion, Norma Garrett of Peoria, IL; a host of grand and great-children; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Curtis is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Clark, his father, Gus Barnes, Sr.; two nephews, Jermaine Watson and Drake Watson. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Simons Mortuary Chapel, with a visitation beginning at 9 am. Pastor Deveraux Hubbard will officiate.
