Ms. Deborah Marie Pruitt

LOCATION HAS BEEN CHANGED TO New Cornerstone Baptist Church Ms. Deborah Marie Pruitt, 69, of Peoria, Illinois transitioned to her heavenly home at 1:30 am on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Sharon Healthcare Elms. Deborah was born on September 1, 1952 in Albion, Michigan to Anethia Pruitt Smith. Deborah relocated to Chicago, IL at an early age. She and her grandmother Obelia Burress attended Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Wilbur Daniels. Deborah graduated from South Shore High School. Her favorite past-time was listening to classic R&B music and spending time with her family. Deborah leaves to cherish her most precious memory her loving and devoted cousins, Qamar (Shaka)Mateen-Dansby, Spencer Readus, III, Laurence (Janet) Readus, Cherie Readus Liggens, Claudia Kemp and Eleanor Blackwell all of Chicago, IL, Janice Marable and Gail Foster both of Peoria; her fur baby, Chico; and a host other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother; maternal grandmother, Obelia Burress, aunts, Maria Williams, Malethia Pruitt, and Harriett Osie Lee Tate; an uncle ,Fred Burress; and 1st cousin, Army Lieutenant 1st Class Todd Tate, III. A celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at New Cornerstone Baptist Church with a gathering at 10:30 am. Rev. Dr. Mark A. McConnell, pastor will officiate. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at SimonsMortuary.com.
