Mrs. Ebony Ulynn Pickett-Chapman

Mrs. Ebony Ulynn Pickett-Chapman, 46, passed on November 25, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL. Ebony was born on September 14, 1979 to Terri (Ross) and Pizzarro Pickett in Peoria at OSF Hospital. She married Gregory Chapman on July 13, 2013. Ebony was a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She graduated from Peoria High School in 1998. Ebony was a CNA for 10 years at Proctor Place. She believed that a good education is the foundation to succeeding in Life. She was very supportive and completely involved with her children’s education and extracurricular activities. Ebony created a Culinary Arts Scholarship on behalf of her son, Kenneth Ward III. The Scholarship is currently available in his name. Ebony’s son, Martin, graduated from Peoria High with Honors and is currently attending Arizona State University in Tucson, AZ. She was very excited when she had her daughter, Hayden after having two sons. Ebony was a Photogenic Diva and Queen. Her fashion skills were unique and undeniable. Appearance meant a lot to her. She was definitely a Fashionista! Ebony’s favorite restaurant was Tasty Crab. She would even take Benadryl to avoid a reaction to the seafood because she Loved it so much. Ebony was truly a selfless person who would give from the kindness of her heart. Ebony cherished every moment spent with her family and friends, whether that time was in person or on the phone. Sometimes she would talk for hours. Ebony leaves to cherish her most precious memories, her husband, Gregory; children, Martin and Hayden; parents, Pizzarro and Terri Pickett; sisters, Amber and Paris and grandfather, Willie Ross. In her Union with Gregory, she inherited her bonus children, Hannah, Hollie, Hayley, Isaiah and Noah as well as bonus grandchildren, Micah, William, Antonio, Parker, Makenzie, Malayah, Nolah, Kyla and a special nephew, Kyler. Along with a host of other relatives and friends. Ebony was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Ward, III; grandmothers, Marlene Ross and Retha Jones; Bonus parents, Douglas Smith, Charles and Marsha Chapman and a special Aunt, April Ross. Funeral service will be held at Greater City of Refuge Worship Cathedral on December 6, 2025 at 11 am with a visitation at 10 am. Bishop Timothy Criss will officiate.
