Mr. Eddie West Polnitz

Mr. Eddie West Polnitz, 62, of Peoria, IL passed away at 4:45 pm on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at his residence. Eddie was born on January 3, 1958 in Lambert, MS to Isacc Polnitz and Bessie Brooks. Eddie served in the US Army. He loved to ride his bicycle. Eddie leaves to cherish his most precious memories two sons, Gerrell Harris and Demarques (Amy) Crowder; two daughters, NaKiesha (Valen) Williams and Kelashawn Crowder all of Peoria, IL; five brothers, David (Lisa) Polnitz and Frank (Kimberly) Polnitz both of Peoria, IL, Isaac Pointer, Sammy (Lakeeta) Pointer and Richard (Deborah) Pointer all of Clarksdale, MS; two, sisters, Willie Mae Polnitz and Dora Polnitz both of Peoria, IL; step brother, George Marshall, Jr; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Catherine Polnitz. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Simons Mortuary Chapel with a visitation before beginning at 10:30 am. Minister Jeffrey Foreman of Grace Baptist Church will give words of comfort. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at SimonsMortuary.com. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance limits will be observed. In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health, Funerals are limited to 10 family members of the decedents, not including the staff. To be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services. Funerals are limited to no more than 10 of the decedent’s immediate family members. *In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we ask that everyone in attendance: wear a face mask and refrain from hugging, kissing and shaking hands (as hard as it is to see someone you care about and not touch them). *It is our responsibility as a Funeral Directors, to do everything we can to advise families in order to honor our beloved Families and to keep everyone as safe as possible.
