George “Worm” Nichols, Jr., 43, 427 S. Shelley St.,Peoria, IL passed away at 4:12 am on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at his home. George was born on April 12, 1969 in Peoria. He was the son of Dorothy Jean Sutton; his step-father, George Nichols, Sr., and Willie Albert, Jr. He married Phoenicia Wright on June 27, 2006. George leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Phoenicia “Miko” Nichols of Peoria; his mother, Dorothy Sutton of Racine, WI; his father, Willie (Judy) Albert, Jr., of Peoria; three sons, George Nichols, III, Rasul (Keysha) Wright and Rashad Porter all of Peoria; three daughters, Shaniquia Nichols and Ranesha Porter both of Peoria and Keonna Nichols of Racine,WI; six brothers, Yohon (Authum) Bell of Racine, WI, Brian Nichols of Madison, WI, Kenneth Daryl “Snake” Sutton of Racine, WI, Maurice “Pooh” Brown and Willie (Megan) Albert, III, Michael Howard all of Peoria; six sisters, Crystal Glasper, Jessica Albert, Alycia Albert and Tenner Calloway and Mary Ann Chapai all of Peoria, Charmain(Kevin Rucker) Bell of Racine, WI and Jennifer Albert of New York, NY; ten grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his step-father, George Nichols, Sr., maternal and paternal grandparents; one grandson, Rakeem Wright; and special cousin and uncles, Stacy Bridges and Lawrence and Mickey. George had worked in security; he then went on to work for the Peoria Park District for over 8 years. He was currently working as a bus monitor for the district 150 schools. George loved his family, friends and the kids. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers on TV; basketball, bowling, playing pool and dominos. He was a kind and compassionate man who never met a stranger. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at New Cornerstone Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior beginning at 9 am. The Rev. Dr. Mark McConnell will officiate. George will be laid to rest at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Family and friends will be received at 6414 N. Randwick Rd. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
