Ms. Gyneva Carol Newbern

Ms. Gyneva Carol Newbern (White), 71, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away on August 13, 2022. Gyneva was born on October 16, 1950 in Larned, Kansas, to Charles and Lula (Jones) White. Gyneva retired from Caterpillar after many years of service. She loved to fish and carried that tradition through her children and grandchildren. She loved dancing, family get togethers and going to the casino. She was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Gyneva leaves to cherish her most precious memories Miles (Penny) Duncan of Jacksonville, North Carolina, son; Tia Duncan, daughter; Jason Johnson, son; Kendell Johnson Sr., son and Kendell Johnson Jr., adopted son, all of Peoria Illinois; two sisters, Lynnda White of Peoria, Illinois and Bea Wells of Memphis, Tennessee; one brother, Raven White of Peoria, Illinois; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grand-children, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. She was proceeded in death by both parents, sister Barbara Moore and nephew Chase White. A celebration of life Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Morning Glory Community Church, Peoria, Illinois, with the repast to follow.
