Mr. James "CoCo" Earl Everheart

Mr. James “CoCo” Earl Everheart, 59, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away at 3:35 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at his residence. James, affectionately known as “CoCo” was born on February 26, 1963 in Carbondale, Illinois to Esther Lee Armstead and Ned Everheart. CoCo pioneered a movement when he, the diva, made his first appearance as the first female entertainer at Club Peoria. CoCo continued to perform at Club Peoria and also at Diesel. CoCo had a big heart and was known for bringing family and friends together. He was not just the life of the party he was the party. CoCo was a giver and nurtured many children and families. He continued to nurture those in need up until his passing. He attended White Elementary School and Woodruff High School in Peoria, Illinois. CoCo attended Pillar of the Truth Church #4 under the leadership of Elder Arthur Ellis. CoCo leaves to cherish his most precious memories three brothers, Ernest Higgins of Ohio, Terry Everheart of Peoria, IL and Gregory Armstead of Houston, TX; two sisters, Mary (Aaron) McKinney and Christina (Anthony) Scott both of Atlanta, GA, special family members, Charlene Sidener and Cynthia Stone both of Peoria, IL and LaTashia Sidener of Chicago, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jerome “Chuckie” Armstead and Precious Armstead. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Pillar of the Truth Church C.O.G.I.C. #4, 1001 S. Greenlawn Ave., Peoria, IL 61605, with a visitation beginning at 10 am. The host Pastor is Elder Arthur Ellis. Rev. Renetta Watson will officiate and bring the eulogy. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
