Infant Khy'lee TyOnna Smith

Khy’lee TyOnna Shanece Smith, 3 days old, infant daughter of Shakyra Smith and Christopher Velazquez, passed away at 4:30 am on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. Khy’lee was born on March 17, 2021 in Peoria, IL. Little Khy’lee leaves to cherish her most precious memory her parents, Shakyra Smith and Christopher Velazquez; her brother, Tyree Wilson, Jr.; her paternal grandmother, Deneatra Bolden; paternal grandmother, Sheri Velazquez all of Peoria, IL; paternal great grandfather, Tommie Stamp of Miami, FL; aunts, ShaQualla Smith of Lafayette, IN, Ro’Naija Pickett, Jasmine Flowers, Stephanie Ugarte, Marisa Velazquez and Alexis Velazquez all of Peoria, IL and a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal great grandmother, Pearlean Bolden and paternal grandfather, Rodrigo Velazquez. A private funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Simons Mortuary Chapel with a visitation beginning at 10:30 am. Pastor Charles “Chuck” Brown of Victory Christian Church will bring words of comfort. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at SimonsMortuary.com. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and attendance, funerals are limited to 50 family members of the decedents, not including the staff at Simons Mortuary. The chapel can socially distance and seat no more than 50 or less people. All others will be able to flow through prior to beginning of the service. To be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services.
