Ms. Marsha Lynn Sommerville

Ms. Marsha Lynn Sommerville, 74, of Peoria, IL, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 21, 2025 at her home. Marsha was born in Buffalo, NY on August 22, 1950 to Montague Jackson and Walter Sommerville. Marsha last worked as a home healthcare assistant and a private homecare aid. She was extremely loving and independent. She enjoyed dancing and was the life of the party. She was a skilled pool player, a shark at it, and had been a member of the Buffalo, NY and Peoria, IL Pool Teams. Marsha also had a passion for cooking and always prepared delicious meals for her family. She had a natural green thumb when it came to caring for plants. Marsha also took pride in maintaining a clean and well-organized home where she established a place for everything and kept it tidy. Marsha loved her children and grandchildren. She provided a positive upbringing and ensured that they all loved the Lord as she had. Marsha loved her nieces and nephews as well. She loved and helped everyone from the neighbors to others that she might have touched that loved her. Beyond selfless, she gave her all to help everyone. She loved GOD first and foremost and stayed in her Bible daily! Marsha also loved her dogs; Bella, Kane and Karma and the family dogs; Husky and Max. Marsha leaves to cherish her most precious memory five children; Katrina (Michael) Thomas of New York, Venessa Motley of Illinois, Dave (Annette) Taylor of North Carolina, Marisa Taylor of Georgia, and Darrell (Michelle) Taylor of Illinois; three sisters, Pamela, Maxine and Ethel; twenty grandchildren, LaMaur, McKell, Terrance, Lanesha, John, Jalesha, Aleshia, Britni, Bianca, Dave Jr., Chaz, Anastasia, Achlei, Britnee, Breeana, Taj, Desmond, Brooklyn, Darrien, and Darrell Jr.; twenty-one great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She is also preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Gloria, Barbara, Annie, Pearl, Walter Jr. and Cardell. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Life Together Center of First Federated Church 3601 N. Sheridan Road. Peoria Il. 61614 on March 29, 2025, 2:00pm - 6:00pm.
