Ms. Nadra "Lipstick" Alicia Welch-Perry

Ms. Nadra “Lipstick” Alicia Welch-Perry, 61, of Peoria, IL, passed away at 12:04 am on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at her residence. Nadra was born on January 7, 1961 in Peoria, IL to Mose, Sr. and Cartheda (Sargent) Welch. She married Anthony Perry in 1981 and to their union one daughter was born, Nadra Perry, II. Nadra was a 1979 graduate of Manual High School where she played basketball. She was a member of the Drama and Afro Clubs where she and her school mates performed many talent shows. After graduating, she went to Illinois Central College. In 1986 she enlisted into the U.S. Army and honorably served until 1989. During her tour of service, she was an Administrative Specialist. She later joined the US Army Reserves as an Administrative Specialist. Nadra worked at S & S License & Title Services, Inc., and Caterpillar Financial as a clerk typist at both jobs. Nadra was also a childcare provider in her home. Nadra loved to roller skate. She, family and friends used to travel to Bloomington, IL every weekend just to roller skate; she was known for her skating ability and talent. Her favorite spot in Peoria was at Fernwood Skating Rink. She enjoyed writing poetry and even had one of her poems published. Nadra leaves to cherish her most precious memory her loving daughter, Nadra Perry, II of Peoria, IL; one brother, Mose Welch; three sisters, D’Arbra Welch, Carol Welch and Carla Welch all of Peoria, IL; her special niece-sis, Dorothea Welch-Gulley of Peoria, IL; five grandchildren, Jontarius Crowder, Nariya Spencer, Demarco Spencer, Ta'Khira Stewart and Ta’Shon Stewart; eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Allison Perry and Olivia Welch and one niece, D’Ann Boone. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Zion Baptist Church with a gathering at 10:30 am. Pastor Samuel Duren will officiate.
