Mrs. Patricia Ann Williams

Mrs. Patricia Ann (Guthrie) Williams, 82, of Peoria, IL, passed away at 2:34 am on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital surrounded by her family. Patricia, affectionately known as Sis. Pat, was born in Peoria, IL on June 10, 1942 to William and Ethel (Weir) Guthrie. She married Arthur S. Williams, Sr. in Peoria, IL on May 12, 1970. Sis. Pat worked at Bemis Company, Inc., retiring after 33 years of service. She earned her Bachelor's Degree of Religious Education at Mid-State College and attended Green Memorial Biblical University in Sikeston, MO. Sis. Pat loved to visit family in Las Vegas, New York, Arkansas and Missouri. She was an avid Bible reader and watched religious programs. Sis. Pat was a faithful member of Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church for 55 years where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for 20 years, Steward Emeritus, Worship leader of Fannie Coppin Missionary Society, former member of the Silver Star Chapter OES, Masonic Consistory, NAACP, Sister of the Missionary Society of the Illinois Annual Conference and a member of several charitable organizations. She was a faithful, devoted Christian and loyal loving wife. Sis. Pat leaves to cherish her most precious memory, her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Rev. Arthur S. Williams, Sr.; three step daughters, Wendelyn Williams, Sharon (Daryl) McGhee and Angela Ware all of Peoria, IL; four step sons, James (Sandy) Williams of Norfolk, VA, Kenneth Williams and Rodney Williams of Peoria, IL and Tony (Sharon) Williams of Wilmington, NC; two brothers, James Guthrie of St. Joseph, MI and Donald Guthrie of Peoria, IL; three sisters, Eunice Easley and Theresa Roland both of Peoria, IL and Marguerite Edmonds of Las Vegas, NV; and a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; step sons, Arthur Williams, Jr. and Roger Williams; one brother, William Guthrie and two sisters, Jeanette Hopson and Sharon Davis. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church with a visitation one-hour prior beginning at 10 am. Pastor Cyrus Burns will officiate and Rev. Dr. Elaine Gordon, Retired Presiding Elder, will bring forth the eulogy. Sis. Pat will be laid to rest at Resurrection Mausoleum and Cemetery. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
