Ms. Rhonda "Chocolate Dropp" Renee Cagle

Ms. Rhonda Renee Cagle, 56, of Peoria, IL, transitioned at 5:55 pm, on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital. Rhonda was born on October 15, 1966 in Peoria, Illinois to Eloise (Carter) Rayford and Bobby Cagle, Sr. Rhonda was a 1985 Richwoods High School graduate. Rhonda was a Case Worker for Southside Mission for over 20 years. She formerly worked as a latch key program coordinator at several schools and day care centers within the Peoria Community. Rhonda was a part of a social club “Hustlas and Heels” and a traveling group called “The Vibe Tribe”. She was outgoing, loved music, shopping and especially her family and grandchildren. Rhonda was a God-fearing woman. Rhonda leaves to cherish her most precious memory her mother, Eloise Rayford of Peoria, IL; one son, Jarvis (Sonya) Hightower of Peoria, IL; three daughters, Tamarra Hightower (Lamar Formon, Sr.), Ralonda Yates (Derrick “Bishop” Jenkins) both of Peoria, IL and Lamesha (Reggie) Robinson of South Holland, IL; three extended children, Ketorious "Moon", Latrice and Derius Brady all of Peoria, IL; seven brothers, Willie (Denise) Cagle, Sr., Brandyn (Michelle) Cagle, Sr., Darren (Tanya) Young, Lyntee “Popeye” (Marie) Curley, Derrick (Alyssa) Roddy, Rev. Jeffrey (Lysandra) Foreman all of Peoria, IL and Kevin Cockfield of Rockford, IL; six sisters, Johnetta Rayford, Tammy (LC) Rayford-Lobdell, Robin “Niecy” (Delvin) Cagle-Owens, Edna “Tiny” (Vernon “Tiger”) Johnson, Robyn (Houston) Owens, Jessica Foreman and Annie Ruth Carter all of Peoria, IL; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends who loved her. She is preceded in death by her fathers, Bobby Cagle, Sr., and Johnie Rayford; four brothers, Bobby Cagle, Jr., Kevin Cagle, Thomas “Cochise” Shelby and Brian Paige; one sister, Lillie McGhee and her bonus mother, Gurthie Cagle. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Greater City of Refuge Worship Cathedral with a visitation one-hour prior at 9 am. Pastor Alvin Riley, Sr. will officiate and Minister Claire Underwood will be the Eulogist. Rhonda will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
