Miss Taylor Denise McClain

Taylor Denise McClain, 23, of Peoria, IL passed away at 3:50 am on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Unity Point Methodist Hospital. Taylor was born on September 20, 1994 in Peoria to Tia McClain and Kenneth Rutherford. She was a 2013 Graduate of Richwoods high School where she was a four year Varsity Lettered Cheerleader, member of the National Honor Society and Richwoods’ Homecoming Queen. She was also an officer with the Peoria Urban League’s TSTM program during high school. She was a competitive cheerleader with Cheer Time and was currently a cheer coach with Titanium Force Cheer. Taylor was a 2017 graduate of Illinois State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and minored in Child life Studies. While at ISU she was a football and basketball cheerleader and honor student. She was also a staff member of UCA (Universal Cheer Association). Taylor also worked for Rogy’s Daycare. Taylor was a faithful member of Gospel Experience Church under the leadership of Pastor Richard Hammonds where she was a Youth Praise Dance Leader. Taylor always had a smile on her face, ready to be of help to all and just a joy to be around. She was the go to babysitter for many of her family and friends. Taylor leaves to cherish her most precious memories; her mother Tia McClain; Father, Kenneth Rutherford of Peoria; her fiancé, Nick Parks of Peoria; brothers, Dorian McClain and Kenneth Rutherford, Jr., both of Peoria; sisters, Te’Necia Foreman, Lola, Lucaya and Kenya Rutherford all of Peoria; God parents, Raymond (Sharon) Mills of Atlanta, GA; special aunts, Tonya “TaTa” (David) McClain-Davis of Peoria and Trina (Curtis) Stenson-Stuckey of Las Vegas, NV; special uncle Anthony (Kari) McClain of Decatur, IL; her special and only niece, Trinity Langhorn and a host of other relatives and many friends who truly adored Taylor. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM at the Church of the Living God, Temple 130 on Saturday, March 3, 2018 with a visitation beginning at 12:00 Noon. Host Pastor Vice Chief Bishop Leroy Smith.
