Mr. Theodore R. Evans

Theodore R. Evans, 72, of Peoria, IL passed away at 10:40 pm on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at his home. Theodore was born on Aug. 4, 1940 in Port Gibson, MS to Armstead and Emma (Scales) Evans. Theodore is survived by his loving fiancé and caretaker, Betty J. Randle-Morgan of Peoria; two sons, Stevie and Jimmy (Tammy) Washington both of Peoria; two daughters, Katie Washington and Catherine (Manuel) Stringer both of Peoria; many grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who also adored Theodore. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tony Gore; one daughter, Tyann Keyes and one brother, Ernest Evans. A special thank you to OSF Hospice and homecare. Theodore worked construction worker for Peoria Black Top retiring in 1995 after 30 years of service. He was a past member of laborers union local 165. Theodore loved family, fishing, cooking and socializing. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at Simons Mortuary Chapel with a visitation one hour prior beginning at 11:00 am. The Rev. Melvin McAfee will officiate.
