Twins Winter Ceirra Jones and Rolandro Earl Jr. Jones On July 4th as families celebrated Independence Day with picnics and fireworks I made a grand entrance several weeks too early arriving at 9:42 pm at only 8 oz. I was born to wonderful, loving parents Autumn Newby-Dixson and Rolandro Earl Jones. My name is Winter Ceirra Jones. I was only able to stay with my earthly family for three short hours and I had to continue home to my heavenly father. I left behind a heart broken family and a twin brother that my mommy continued to carry. On July 23, 2013 I decided to make a grand appearance also, my name is Rolandro Earl Jones, Jr. and I weighed 1 pound but I was early at 22 weeks and 6 days. I was whisked away at birth by the NICU Team where I began my fight lying in a “giraffe” with tubes in my throat and all kinds of other lines in me. My loving family could only talk to me through the top and occasionally hold my hand through the side door. They prayed for me, grandma Sheila sang Jesus loves me when she came to visit and promised to take me to my first Cubs game (even though she is a Cardinals fan) when I was older. My dad and grandpa Roy stayed with me. My mommy was very ill and wasn’t allowed to see me much but I felt her love when she was there. I fought hard but on July 30th Dr. Scott called my family together and told my parents she couldn’t do anything else to help me fight. My parents made the hardest decision ever and allowed me to rest and instead of any pain or suffering I continue my journey to my Heavenly Father and my sister, Winter. Don’t be sad, for Winter and I are dancing with angels and Grandma Callie and grandpa TC Sturdivant are with us. We had so much family around us, our maternal grandparents, Thomas and Sheila Sturdivant, Grandpa John Newby, all my many aunts, uncles and cousins and my great grandparents Don and Lorraine McMullen. We leave to cherish our memory, our parents, Autumn Newby-Dixson and Rolandro Jones, Sr. of Peoria; maternal grandparents Tom and Sheila Sturdivant of Bloomington, IL; paternal grandparents, Beverly Jones and Earl (Rosalind) Jones all of Peoria, four uncles, Mikahl Sturdivant, Justice Sturdivant, Caleb Sturdivant, Marcus all of Bloomington, IL; Eric Holdsome of Peoria; Dunigan of Atlanta, GA; nine aunts, Eliza Sturdivant, Jasmine Sturdivant of Bloomington, IL; Adriana Dixson of Canton, Alexis Dixson, Faith Newby, Earllissa Jones, Shamika Jones, Ashley Jason, Summer (Terry) Failor all of Peoria. Our families would like to say thank you to RN Alecia, PCT Laura, Dr. O, Dr. Renfro, Dr. Scott, Pastor Chip, Pastor Knapp and many many more that we can’t begin to name at OSF. Finally to RN Audrey in the NICU for helping with my final journey. There is a special place in Heaven for all of you. Memorial services will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at St. Luke M.B. Church. Rev. William Sturdivant will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded.
